Bischoff and Silvestre’s first outing and Rosicky to miss season?

Submitted by Chris on October 7, 2008 – 0:11 One Comment

Arsenal new boys Mikael Silvestre and Amuary Bischoff both made their first appeareance for the club in a 3-2 reserves match win over Stoke. Although it was not an official debut it was nice to finally see these two in an Arsenal shirt and they did impress from what I’ve ready.

This is certainly great news considering how lacking we’ve been at the back so far and how much we lacked in creativity in midfield. Amuary played in offensive role, supporting the forward line and played 56 minutes before being replaced by Sunu. Silvestre, on the other hand, stayed on until the end. Let’s hope these two keep on regaining their fitness by taking advantage of the upcoming break for International matches.

Early days of course, but one could sense that Bischoff may replace Rosicky in the same way Vela can replace Eduardo, until these two come back. But will we ever see Tomas back? According to mirror.co.uk, he “is in danger of missing the rest of Arsenal’s season”. That is quite shocking when you consider that the season has just started. Not long ago I read an article hinting on a possible early retirement from the Czech; it would be sad, let’s hope we get to see more of him, especially because when he joined many did say he was injury-prone and would not last long for us and it hurts to see this become reality.
