Adebayor set to join Real Madrid for £25m

Written by Chris on November 18, 2008 – 18:40

Our season can be so much compared to that of Spanish giants Real Madrid, who are struggling to put their act together in the Spanish Liga. A reason for that, is the injury of Dutch striker Ruud van Nistelrooy who will be sidelined for a long time.

Today, rumours talk about a possible £25million bid made by the Spaniards to sign our striker Emmanuel Adebayor, to which I have mixed feelings. I already highlighted how much it would have been important to sell him last summer when he wanted to leave. Instead, Arsene Wenger decided to stick with him and trying to show us how important he is by using him despite not perfoming up to a standard.

However, it’s not that I don’t like him as a player and I believe he would perform well if he plays alongside Vela or Eduardo. The problem is that Wenger keeps on using him together with Van Persie or Bendtner and well, all of them just don’t click together. So yes, I won’t have sleepless nights if Emmanuel leaves but I would want to see him alongside a pure striker before judging this one out.

As always, do take what you read with a pinch of salt friends. In the meantime, the transfer rumour full article can be found here.
