From bad to worse as Walcott suffers new injury

There will be many people frustrated to hear the news that Theo Walcott will be out of action for a month or so after dislocating his right shoulder during training with England, but Arsene Wenger will be more than just that, he’ll be furious. He said earlier this week:

We have some players that will not even be back for Manchester City. I don’t see what you gain from this friendly because there is no game. You can explain a friendly to prepare for an official match but after this there is no international game for four months.

The boss was spot on there, especially when you consider that somehow, with every International break, an Arsenal player ends up sidelined for weeks. Knowing Theo’s past, I do wonder if our medical team knew anything about the state of his shoulder.

Meanwhile, England coach Fabio Capello said:

Our priority is Theo and making him as comfortable as possible before he returns home. We are all very disappointed but the important thing is for Theo to travel home and make a quick recovery.

UPDATE as at noon: It seems as if poor Theo will be out for more than just a month as three months is what is now being rumoured.
