ARSENAL will bid £12million to sign Mikel Arteta as a stand-in for the injured Cesc Fabregas. Gunners boss Arsene Wenger is convinced he can prise the Everton playmaker from Goodison Park. And he has been given the green light by his board to make a firm offer.

With the Spaniard eyeing another “top six finish” with Everton, a possible move by the Arsenal may as well be accepted considering his age. However, despite his fantastic skill on the ball, I don’t really think we should be after a player who plays on the wing as we have solutions there. Having said that, Mikel may as well be used in different areas of midfield and with more than three years experience in the Premiership, he would definitely have no problem to settle down.
