ARSENE WENGER is weighing up a £10million swoop for Dynamo Kiev star Pape Diakhate. The Senegal centre-half excelled against Arsenal in the clubs’ Champions League meetings.

But the Gunners could face strong competition from Manchester City, while Portsmouth boss Tony Adams has also been linked with the defender.

Arsenal’s name comes to no surprise but I would love to see a centre-back signed. But, if Manchester City are really interested, it means that we would have to give up, just as we did for Essien, Kalou and Wright-Philipps when Chelsea wanted them, since today’s football is all about money.
