We are not going to accept Toure`s request, says Hill-Wood
There have been a number of rumours surrounding Kolo Toure, the last “invincible” of the club. Many wrote that he demanded a transfer after a furious bust-up with team-mate William Gallas. Arsenal chairman Hill-Wood did admit that the Ivory Coast international asked for a transfer, but also added that it was rejected:
I know about it (the request) but we are not going to accept it. We are not looking to let any of our players go and he is under contract – and we expect him to honour it. They seem to get unhappy rather quickly for odd reasons.
I can’t see the club preferring to keep Silvestre and letting Toure go. In the few appearances of the season for the club, Kolo did well and he can still be a key to the side ahead of the second part of the season. We need to keep and get some more centre-backs, not let those we have go.
