ARSENE WENGER is ready to rekindle his interest in Portsmouth’s Niko Kranjcar. Arsenal boss Wenger is desperate to land two midfielders in this month’s transfer window and has targeted the £10million-rated Croatian, who he tried to sign last summer.

This is what Niko said last month:

For me, my main objective is to keep fit, and that’s all. I’ve been out for three months, and it would be stupid for me to think about a move in January when I haven’t been fit for the beginning of the season. I’ve had rumours about transfers since I was 17 years old, and newspapers have probably linked me with every single club in the world, so it’s something I don’t talk about.
