Everton have few concerns, although manager David Moyes says Spaniard Mikel Arteta has only a “50/50″ chance of playing because of a rib injury. Louis Saha is on the mend after picking up a hamstring injury in November.

well, Wenger knows all but in ma opinion we need arshavin and one more experienced defender
Wenger has said Arshavin isn’t our only target- so what has happened with the others? Good job we havn’t had to follow those negotiations in the media as well! I think we are doing well @ the moment but reinforcements @start of Jan couldn’t hav hurt.
We need Arshavin and when Wenger not signs I think it will be just UEFA cup position in the end of the season. So c’on and give money to Zenit Mr. Hill-Wood&Gazidis&others.
I hope 2day lifts my spirits as last night was awful! Heskey- where did he find that goal? How did we lose 2 Stoke? & apparantly Man Utd found their Ruthless streak- his name is (Rob Styles)
I’m not entirely clear on Arsenal’s wage structure but eventually it does need revision. While Arshavin is definitely not worth anything more than 15M, if Wenger continues as manager for the next 3-4 years, he will eventually have to break the 13M club record. Who that will be we will not know but one thing is for certain, Wenger will have to start paying more money for players. I’m not implying that he has to splash out some 20M for someone just because they are a superstar, but economics will more or less dictate that he will have to pay more money as time passes. We can easily see this in our lives – what used to cost $5 yesterday is $7 today, in a manner of speaking. The cost of a brand new car used to be $5000 way back when, but now we’re spending upwards of $15,000. Inflation will eventually come into play at The Emirates and things just cost more now than they did before and I think Gazidis is very apt choice to have replaced Dein because his experience in finances as an American will go a long way to re-organize the Arsenal wage structure for the future, to take into consideration the natural inflation of things. Arshavin has not made public his personal terms aside from wanting more than the 60K a week we planned to pay him. I suppose being potentially the highest paid player at the club isn’t enough for him.
In other news, Everton is a must win to keep the pressure on Villa who will crack when they face the other top four. We choked in the 2-2 draw against them but we cannot afford to be more than 3 points behind them right now. We have to keep a position where one loss by Villa means we’re right along side them in terms of points total. Their squad is not deep and somewhere in these run of games without Young they will drop points. They scraped out their win yesterday and luck will eventually falter and a dip in form seems inevitable. We must contain Cahill and Lescott on set pieces. We must be quick to come out of our box on set pieces and not allow the likes of Osman of Fellaini to take pot shots from outside the box. We must be very ruthless with our chances on goal because Jagielka is a very able defender who will give life and limb to block any shots if there is even a hint of hesitation by the attack.
