Arsenal midfielder Cesc Fabregas revealed he’s flattered to be linked with Spanish giants Barcelona and Real Madrid, yet believes he won’t be leaving Arsenal if Arsene Wenger still needs his services.
The captain said:
I do not close the door to anyone and I never did it. Every player has his own way to live his life: every summer he assesses how the season has been, if he is happy or if he can improve. But at the moment two months of competition are remaining; I have just recovered from injury after spending four months out, and the only thing I must be focused on is play football because it is what I like.
I cannot control what people say about me, anyway it is incredibly flattering that the two biggest clubs in the history of football are saying such things about me. If Wenger asks me to stay for sure I will remain with Arsenal. If someone wants me, first of all he needs to speak to Arsenal.
I am fit and put myself at the disposal of the coaching staff if the gaffer wants me to play next Saturday. I am very happy at Arsenal where I have a very big responsibility as club captain, and I am determined to be back playing again and if possible, lift up a trophy at the end of the season.
