The F.A. Premier League wants us to change our design to remove Arsenal crests, and it`s no April`s fool
Last week, the Gunning Hawk was approached by the Football Data Co Limited on behalf of the F.A. Premier League for us to remove UK Club Crests from our design. Now I’m more than sure that other Arsenal-based blogs and websites will be approached, we were the first from what I understand.
Now as 80% of the positive feedback we get on our website is on the design, it’s very sad that we will be forced to change it as from the start of next week. I asked our designer to do his best in replacing the crests with something similar but I’m not sure what he will come up with as a crest, is a crest. Those who know us well know this is a hobby for us, we don’t do it for money, yet money is the reason we will have to take the crests down.
The few adverts we have around the design are to be able to pay the dedicated server on which the website is hosted and believe me, they are still not enough, but we keep on going, and we will keep on going despite this setback which comes as a big surprise to us, as I firmly believe that we and all other blogs out there are just an additional asset to the club. I don’t expect the club to provide exlusive material for our website, never did and never will, but at least some support would be appreciated.
In the meantime I will try and contact the club for permission. I already phoned and e-mailed but no luck so far. I will of course keep you updated on this issue.
