[By our Readers] Do we have a title winning squad?

Our challenge for the league ended before it really began this year, as we struggled to get results in the first half of the season but we have started to play very well lately and look like having a real chance of picking up a trophy before the end of the season, hopefully more than one.

The signing of Arshavin has really added to the team and we now look even more threatening than before, it is just a shame the little Russian is cup-tied for the Champions League. But to my question, do we have a squad that can win the title next year? Well, I think yes and no.

I think that when we have everyone fit and playing well there are very few teams who can handle us but the problem we have is that we get too many injuries, often to our key players at key times.

Injuries to Cesc, Adebayor, Theo and Rosicky in the early part of the season meant we were missing 4 of our star players with only really youngsters to replace them, not that Cesc, Adebayor and Theo are not young. Thankfully we have started to see some of our fringe players like Denilson and in particular Song really start to improve and step up to the plate when they were needed.

The squad we have at present I believe is capable of winning the title next year as long as we keep our main men fit but I would still like to see some reinforcements come in during the summer. I think an experienced yet young centre-back would be an excellent addition to the squad and I would still be tempted to splash out on a top centre forward.

Adebayor received a lot of attention from clubs throughout Europe last year and, if the rumours are true, they are circling again but this time I would be very tempted to sell. At times he produces absolute genius in an Arsenal shirt then at other times he is woeful. The flaw in my plan is I am not sure who we could get that could offer the same options as Adebayor. He has the build to allow us to go direct and for him to hold up the ball when needed, something we don’t really have in any other player at the club, including in my opinion Bendtner.

A player I would love to see at Arsenal is David Villa, who could be available as Valencia are struggling for money. However he doesn’t have the same strengths as Adebayor and will most likely be out of our price range.

So do we have enough to win the title next year? I think we do and it will be about time the Premiership trophy comes back to where it truly belongs.
