Barcelona and their treble should give Wenger food for thought

Having won the treble in style, Barcelona are all-over the headlines, not just for having won things but of course, for the way they did it. No ugly football, no defending after taking the lead, just nice passing and nice football.
Now to be honest, the Spaniards have ALWAYS put on show this type of football game and when they had coaches who wanted to change that, they got fired straight away, so to those who love Wenger no matter what, no, he’s not the only coach who can teach his players to play like that. After all, despite not having Arsene’s experience, Pep Guardiola clearly showed that there are other managers who can understand the game of football like that.
The only difference, when compared to Wenger, is that Guardiola and all those who love to teach football the way it should be taught is that the beautiful football alone, well, is not enough. You need experience, you need strength and why not, also to spend a million or two.
Make no mistake, as long as Arsene Wenger is our boss, we will always be a football team showing beautiful football, just watch a video or two on youtube of the Carling Cup kids to understand how good the man still is. But seriously, he has to change his mentality and that is what I will be hoping for this summer. Two signings, not ten, one in central midfield and one in central defense, that’s all I will be wishing for. That, together with the boss’ football policy and we can aim high. Remember, he was the captain of the invincibles’ ship but those eleven had something which unfortunately today’s squad is lacking.
