Many know little or nothing on Thomas Vermaelen. Tony Adams believes he’s not ready to play for Arsenal but former Dutch International Ronald de Boer seems to have other ideas.

Interviewed by one of our readers before the Belgian signed, this is what de Boer told Imran Azam:

I always said I would try to sign Jan Vertonghen and Thomas Vermaelen if I were coaching in England. Vermaelen is a top class defender who is also comfortable on the ball and whoever will buy him will probably get him cheaper than he will actually be worth in a couple of years time.

He definitely would be an asset to any of the top Premiership teams. He may be young but his future is very bright.
