Arsenal striker Carlos Vela was speaking to reporters after Mexico’s 4-0 win over Venezuela in a friendly match in which he was on target.

The youngster said:

We (Vela and Dos Santos) seemed like the bad guys of the movie. I hope that with this everyone will realize that we’re not that bad, and now we’re not the best. We’re players that have to do our work, and contribute to that national team. We’re young now and we still have much to learn.

On his future with Arsenal and the fact he will miss pre-season due to Mexico’s schedule, Vela added:

I’ll play with Arsenal next season. The boss (Wenger) has confidence in me and he told me that he’s counting on me. My intention is to earn minutes and to be on the pitch as much as possible.
