It is very unrealistic for Arsenal to spend £27m for a player considering the budget of the club, yet many believe Arsene Wenger may make a big for French International Karim Benzema, bid which is yet to arrive if it will ever be made.

In fact, Lyon director of communications, Olivier Blanc, told L’Equipe:

We have not received any official offer for Karim, either from Madrid, Manchester or Arsenal. We had first contact with Real in the middle of last week. Anyway €32m (£27m) is not very realistic. If Madrid really made an offer, it would have been superior.
