The fact that Wenger had been extremely busy in Asia promoting the affiliates of Arsenal could as well have hindered the process. Furthermore, I think it's been of more importance to him to tie up existing players before venturing out into the market again, so Wenger could very well be hard at work in his dungeon watching game day videos over and over again before trying to decide on a shortlist of targets. I don't think it's as easy as just reeling off names and I suspect Arsene makes perhaps only 2-3 names out of possibly hundreds of potential players.
