Despite having recovered from injury, Arsenal striker Carlos Vela will not feature in tomorrow’s early morning Gold Cup game against Guadeloupe.
Speaking on Vela and Guillermo Franco, Mexico manager Javier Aguirre said:
I had planned for neither to be in this game. They could be. If it were the last game I could put them both on to play. But, I prefer for them to gain physical fitness, in Guillermo (Franco’s) case, and for them to gain health in Carlos (Vela’s) case. If everything turns out as we planned we’ll have this week in between the group games and the quarter finals which are six days more or less. (It’ll be) about a week to practice and to be at 100 percent of physical condition. Both at 100 percent to integrate them into the team.
