Best wishes to John Hartson

Submitted by Chris on July 14, 2009 – 1:10 7 Comments

Yesterday was the day where it seems everyone was busy speculating on the future of Adebayor, whether he will end at Manchester City or not and other insignificant discussions.

Insignificant because in the morning, the Sun reported how former Gunner John Hartson was diagnosed with cancer in his brain and I was surprised that very few websites gave importance to this matter. In fact, credit goes to Arsenal Insider for publishing an article on John in the early morning.

John left the Arsenal more or less when I started supporting the club but I remember something in the few occassions I saw him in action: he always gave 101%, a true fighter. Actually, ask any Arsenal fan who saw him play and he will tell you the same.

On the cancer, a close friend of John was quoted as saying:

He told me he had been complaining of having really bad headaches recently.

It reached the stage where he felt something was seriously wrong so went to hospital on Friday.

The doctors did a load of tests and decided to keep him in over the weekend.

They have done every scan and test imaginable and diagnosed that he has testicular cancer which has spread up to his brain.

I, together with the rest of my team, would like to see John fight and win this battle, just as he said.
