Robin van Persie, “Next year I want to have better stats, to play more games, score more goals and make more assists”
Robin van Persie, Arsenal’s player of the season for last season, was speaking to Arsenal TV Online about his personal objectives and the objectives of the whole Arsenal squad for next season.
He said:
I do not feel that I am [yet] at my best.
If you look at my stats [last season], I scored 20 goals, but if you look at how many times I hit the post or the bar, or just missed the target, you could add 10 goals to that.
Next year I want to have better stats, to play more games, score more goals and make more assists.
On next season’s objective for the whole team, he added:
We just need to lift a trophy.
It is not that if we don’t then I will be really, really upset and throw myself off a bridge, but I will just keep going and going until I get my trophy.
Everyone needs to understand we have to do it together. I cannot do it myself, no-one can. We need to do it all together and we will win a trophy. I am just waiting to share that moment with the fans, with the team, with the whole Arsenal family.
