The ALL NEW Gunning Hawk finally online, now also on The Fifth Medium

Submitted by Chris on July 14, 2009 – 17:45 2 Comments

It crossed my mind just as last season was drawing to a close, it became possible thanks to hard work and dedication. It is with great pleasure that I announce the launch of our new web design which some of you enjoyed using during the last two days. When I launched The Gunning Hawk, I had to do a lot of things in very little time and ended up doing most of them not in the way I wanted. The Gunning Hawk

Now, I can finally say everything is well placed, although there are still one or two things to fix. And to the technical people out there, there was a whole procedure involved to go from Wordpress 2.7 up to 2.8.1, change template, yet keeping the downtime of the website to a minimum. Drop a comment if you want to know more.

Needless to say I was a little bit skeptic in terms of speed and functionality but coincidence, or maybe luck wanted that the record in terms of number of comments for an article was broken today after you guys were very active in the Adebayor article. Considering the subject of the article, I hope the record will be broken in happier circumstances later on, but for now, I’m delighted the website is up and running without any particular issues.

The Gunning Hawk That’s not the only positive news for myself, my team and you readers as we were all rewarded for growing so much by being the only Arsenal blog to be invited on The Fifth Medium, which works with a range of partners to produce premium entertainment, specialising in digital and broadcast distribution to engage global audiences and enable partners to achieve their commercial goals.

The Gunning Hawk can be reached at T5M at http://www.t5m.com/the-gunning-hawk and this is what T5M’s Editorial Assistant Rebecca Hutson had to say following the agreement:

T5m approached TGH to contribute to our network as we were seeking opinion forming, authoritative and engaging writers who appeal to both die hand fans and newcomers to the world of football, particularly Arsenal!

TGH’s commitment to professional and thought provoking ‘blogging’ appealed to us immediately – and we liked the mission statement ‘The objective of the blog is to deliver the opinion of its authors regarding latest news in an objective and professional way, making sure not to trick any visitors with fake transfer headlines like many other blogs’!

We are very pleased to have TGH as contributors on our site and look forward to receiving many more articles!

As if that wasn’t enough, we are now also blog partners with Carlos vela News as we fully support the work being carried out by Alex Zimmermann on his website. News from Alex’s website are now featured on our sidebar, on the right hand side of your screen.

Finally, new writers have joined our team. Hasmat will be providing professional match reports before and after the games whilst others will be providing personal thoughts in the new “By The Fans” section. And remember, if you would like to be a contributor, you can have your own articles, on our website, thanks to the “By Our Readers” section.

That’s all for now. I hope you readers will keep on visiting us in the new season just as you did in the last one and remember, all we do at the Gunning Hawk is done so as to keep providing a top-class free service to all Arsenal fans around the world!
