A lot of questions were raised on the fitness level of Arsenal striker Carlos Vela after the youngster did not train with the rest of the El Tri side on Thursday morning.

And although Mexican website El Manana reported that Vela may sit out the rest of the competition and return to England, SDP Noticias revealed the complete opposite, writing how Mexico’s spokesman Mauricio Zavala confirmed the player is fit to play on Sunday after undergoing a number of tests at a local hospital in Texas.

It is not yet confirmed whether the 19-year old will resume his Gold Cup adventure with El Tri but of course, let’s hope SDP Noticias’ report is the correct one and Carlos will be fit for Sunday and Arsenal’s start of the season.
