Arsenal and Belgium defender Thomas Vermaelen was left bitterly disappointed after the Gunners failed to get all three points from last Sunday’s game away at West Ham.
Speaking to Arsenal TV Online, the 23-year old declared that the side should never let a two-goal lead slip away.
He said:
I’m very disappointed. I think we should win today. Two goals out of nothing I think.
In my point of view I think the referee made a big decision by deciding it was a penalty. I thought it was no penalty, so I’m very disappointed.
We were 2-0 up and we were comfortable and in the second half as well we didn’t give any chance away to West Ham. They scored two times out of nothing and that makes it really bad.
We should have had three points today and I’m too disappointed to see the positive.
It’s like Tuesday, we don’t give too many chances away but they scored two times and that is not good.
