Tottenham Hotspur could face Arsenal without five key players this weekend

Submitted by Jeffrey on October 27, 2009 – 15:00 21 Comments

As if losing at home against Stoke City last Saturday wasn’t enough, Tottenham Hotspur are facing a long list of injured players ahead of this weekend’s visit to the Emirates where they will face Arsenal in the North London derby.

Aaron Lennon, Jonathan Woodgate, Ledley King, Jermain Defoe and Luka Modric may all be out due to injuries or suspensions whilst the Gunners will welcome back Samir Nasri who will make his first appearance after breaking his leg in tomorrow’s Carling Cup game against Liverpool.

Eduardo, Nicklas Bendtner and Tomas Rosicky are all expected to feature for the Gunners who are slowly recovering all their injured players as they look to consolidate their place in the Top Four.

“as they look to consolidate their place in the Top Four” ??? Nonsense. Arsenal is not looking to consolidate its place in the top 4. We are trying to win the freaking league.c

  • John Muhindo says:

Arsenal our focus this season is to win trophies but we do not know how many we will part with, as this season looks promising not consolidating to top 4

    • jay says:

the spuds game is a must win bcoz of what happened at upton park and in holland those two games can go a long way in denting the confidence of our players with nasri rosiscky eduardo and bendtner back i think its time to bench diaby and it doesnt matter which scum team turns out we have to win this game to get back on track.

  • Churk says:

This season league can be ours(arsenal), because since day one of this season one of these so call top 4 drop points. So gunners should reduce mistakes like at westham, then league will be our

  • Ryan says:

i don’t think anyone is thinking of ‘consolidating our place in the top 4′. we don’t consider the top 4 unless we have to, we are only looking at getting as close to champions if not champions as possible. being in the top 4 is only relevant at the end of the season as a consolation with the championsleague, it’s not what we’re interested in all season. like i said the only thing on an arsenal fan’s mind is how many points off the top we are, not how many we are above 5th. everyone’s reaction here shows that.

  • goonerkhan says:

We dont care who they play with. We will beat them anyway. Come on Arsenal.

  • Please Arsenal is not a team to consolidate for position 4.What position are we right now(3rd with a game in hand). We are aiming higher to win the premier and even the Champs league.

  • Pavel says:

As Clichy said recently – they should not depend on others, who plays and who doesn’t, just focus on our game and we have enough strength to defeat the spurs. Just keep up the tempo, be confident, and do not give up before it is over.

  • Vickie says:

We fans need to b supportive in every way, and mind what we say on net about our club. Arsenal are lifting trophies this season.

  • salman says:

So what? At the emirates we will beat them with or without their key players.

  • benkim says:

“consolidate fourth place”. Am boycotting this site for two weeks. We are trying to win the league not “consolidate fourth place”. Aaargh!!!

    • Chris says:

benkim, you chose the wrong moment to post this rubbish of a comment. The guys update you with Arsenal news FOR FREE, and in return you act like a child because of your silly interpretation of consolidating fourth place.

Two weeks? I may ban you from the site forever for being so ungrateful.

  • lulu says:
