[Video] Fran Merida, “I have to be thankful to Cesc, he really helped me in the beginning”

Submitted by Renzo on October 30, 2009 – 4:00 4 Comments

Speaking to Arsenal TV Online at the start of the year, 19-year old Fran Merida spoke about his life in London and how important Cesc Fabregas was when he joined the club. The Spaniard scored an amazing goal in Wednesday’s Carling Cup triumph, sending a strong signal to Arsenal Wenger as he tries to find space in Arsenal’s first team.

Meanwhile, speaking on his future with the North London club, the Spaniard said on Thursday:

At the moment I am talking to the Club so I don’t know what is going to happen. I am really happy here so hopefully everything is going to be OK. We are going to sit down and talk about [a new contract].

4 the progress of our club.it high time wenger started benching diaby cause he has nothing 2 contribute 2 d team,he ‘ll just be giving out possessions to opponent.moreover,we’ve a hole lot of players who can fit into his role in d team in d likes of ramsey, merida, and eastmond.that’s if nasri is not fit.we are also lacking quality player at d wright flank of d attack under 4-3-3 4mation in d absence of rosicky.we can introdues vanpersie there 4now and use eduardo as pointman.tell arshavin to wake up from his slumber and work with d team.

Bit over the top. Diaby’s inclusion has weakened our side defensively, which is natural considering he replaced denilson, but he has improved the side’s attack. He plays some excellent passes and carries the ball really well.
He’s the first person to be used to scapegoat any failings at the moment. Even though him and eboue played pretty well at the weekend (Eboue was largely excellent btw) against west ham They are still blamed by many just because they are easy targets.
Nonetheless I’d agree I’d actually prefer to see merida in the side over diaby. Ramsey still makes too many mistakes for me. More so than diaby, but merida is too good to be on left out so often. I’d also prefer merida over walcott when fit on the flank, and my thoughts are that at the end of the season rosicky should be allowed to leave with merida taking his place in the 1st team ideally. So we’d have an attack of arshavin/eduardo – rvp – merida. That would be excellent imo.
