Andrey Arshavin, “The class of players in our team is much higher”

Submitted by Renzo on November 10, 2009 – 3:00 7 Comments

Arsenal midfielder Andrey Arshavin was delighted with last Saturday’s 1-4 win away at Wolves, declaring how the quality of Arsenal prevailed in a remarkable game.

The Russian said on Saturday after the game:

I believe that today we can not say that Arsenal had a remarkable game. It’s just that the class of players in our team is much higher.

We took advantage of those moments that we created on the counterattack. These attacks ended up as goals. In the second half we calmly brought the game to a victorious close.

Rugby coaches have a habit of telling their teams in the half time pep talk that, irrespective of the score line, it`s nil all 0-0 and the second half is a new ball game. If you`re in front double it, if you`re behind beat it. In the Wolves match Arsenal won the first match 3-0 the second was a draw 1-1. The end result should have been 6-0 or 6-1 that`s the objective. Nevertheless a great display of football , well done Arsenal.

Dear Arshavin since you have known that arsenal has classic players, then tell your captain Fabregas and yourself to stop talking about Barcelona. Just concetrate and focus to win trophies.

    • Nyangaga says:

Arshavin and Cess are both intergral parts of this Arsenal machine. We need to support the team and seek their focus on the remaining 26 odd matches in the EPL. With the talent at Arsenal, committment to the course will surely see the gunners bring home at least one important trophy this season. Go gooners Go!!!!

    • Silvanna Perez says:

I think if Barcelona fails to qualify for Champions League( it’s possible if Inter wins the match against them in Camp Nou and Rubin Kazan beats Dinamo Kiev) then Arshavin would be more focus on us. He would realize that Barca is not that powerful and Messi, Xavi and Iniesta are mere mortals, not gods.

  • Great london gooners, wats good.Arshavin is too much 4 my liken,he new we’ve got players of high quality in our team,is just dat i’m yet to c him in a such blossom form he showed 2 us wen he arrived last season. We’ve sent a strong warning signal 2 those they cald d title contender bcoz right 4rom d onset critics ruled us off and stated dat even we are nt qualified enough 2 b cald d pretender.Who’s next bcoz my young goons are ready 4 any1.Arsenal till i die

  • Mike Kasango says:

I agree with you Arshavin. Arsenal is made of great, talented and focused players. Its up for you guys to retain yourselfs in the club and i know it will win BIG now and in future. Congratulation Arsene Wenger.

  • Goonerbeall says:

Look Bakare Shehu, its like this: Ashavin is a top top player whose presence
in the lineup bring more than goals. It takes a couple of players to neutralise him.
This in turn create gaps elsewhere for colleagues to exploit. He is very important
to us now and in the future. What we are lacking however, is a more athletic centre
back because Gallas is a weak link. When he is calm and concentreated he will
be useful like he was against Spuds but usually goes missing.
