Yaya Toure, “Arsenal, Inter Milan, Man Utd are all great teams with great managers”

Submitted by James on November 13, 2009 – 4:00 13 Comments

One of the most active transfer rumours about Arsenal is definitely the move of Yaya Toure from Barcelona to the North London club, despite the fact that brother Kolo is no longer an Arsenal player.

But, speaking to Sky Sports, the Ivory Coast International preferred not to hint at anything related to his future as he said:

I am a Barcelona player. Arsenal, Inter Milan, Man Utd are all great teams with great managers.

It good that Yaya Toure has accepted that arsenal is top seed club. It has young players who are having a talent to deliver services of classic soccer for the world to see. Why don`t you be part of them?

  • kayonga says:

it would be agreat signing for the summer not 4 Jan because he will be away like Song 4 the ACN,we need someone to replace song in jan

  • jaamit says:

Awesome. I had pretty much given up on the idea of Yaya coming after Kolo went. He is exactly the kind of player we need to sign – although I agree with Kayonga above – ACN would be a problem with Song and Yaya out. My feeling is that AW ain’t signing anyone though – no complaints with the way we’re playing now but you’ve got to look at long term fatigue / injuries and that defensive midfielder / enforcer position is the missing link.

Notice how he didn’t list Citeh as a “great team with great manager” ;)

  • RumorRust says:

Arsene will NOT buy Yaya or for that matter any established player who will hamper the chances of Arsene’s youngsters to be part of the team. That’s the philosophy of the club.

    • Chris says:

Do you agree with that RumorRust?

I mean, sticking with the youngsters waiting for them to be ready(one day) knowing that we may not win anything because of that?

    • beatup says:

      Not necessarily correct.

He has said he is willing to buy players who add something special to the team. Prime example being Arshavin.
You gotta think he made a 15mil pound bid for Melo and has been very keen on Toulalan.
Wenger will NOT buy a player he considers overpriced, and with other big clubs chasing Yaya, you would expect his price to be high.

I don’t really see much point in buying him anyway. We need a holding midfielder while Song is away, so buying another African player isn’t really logical. Toulalan would be great, but he aint leaving Lyon till after the world cup, if at all.

Most probable outcome will be Denilson fills the void during the ACN.

      • Chris says:

Wenger made an offer for Melo?

        • beatp says:

If articles like this are true then yes:
          http://www.arsenal.vitalfootball.co.uk/article.asp?a=515116

At the end of the day, we don’t really no whether a bid is really made on a player or not, but its pretty hard to deny that Arsneal were seriously pursuing Melo.

Some people make out like Wenger will not chase a player simply because they have a proven record and a big name. It’s not that simple. Wenger normally steers clears of such players because they are over valued/not a bargain.

We know for certain that he doesn’t like spending big money but signings like Rosicky and Arshavin prove he is not against signing older players with a good record.

  • Roy says:

Sell Diaby and replace with yaya.
    Happy days!

  • blue says:

i say sell Roy the arsenal fan and replace him with someone brighter.. Happy days…

  • lee says:

I think that buying yaya would be a bad idea, wasted money when we need a player to replace song during the ACN not join him. Although I did hear that we are going to bid for lorik cana in january, he would be great cover for song(besides he has already proven himself in the prem). we may be able to win steve bruce over if we give him some pies and diaby to eat lol!
