Mexico’s Carlos Vela set to extend Arsenal stay until 2016
Arsenal-related blog Young Guns has yesterday reported that Mexican striker Carlos Vela is set to extend his contract with the North London club which currently expires in July 2011, for five more years.
It seems his agent, Eduardo Hernández, has confirmed what we at The Gunning Hawk reported last August when Hernández said he would meet with Arsenal in September to renew the contract of the 19-year old.
Vela, who has been sidelined with injuries and made only one appearance for the Gunners this season, hopes to see more first-team action during the busy period of December.

Carlos Vela you are the Heroes tomorrow tor arsenal with your team mates. Keep the spirit.
Thats Right John,Merida and Carlos shud see through, and not turn out to be Flamini and Hleb
good news.. he is the next arsenal star
You have the vision and you are not money hungry like some whom we have seen just remain focused you have a chance of breaking in to the 1st team as long as you are patient.
Carlitos, I hope in all of this you will not become like the money hungry douches (cough cough VAN PERSIE) on your team. Play because you love the game. Once you sell out for cash, you also sell out on class. Stay humble okay? Gracias.
Vela you have to leave this team, you have not play in the whole season, leave Arsenal they don’t appreciate your talent, when do you want to play regularly? in 2 years OMG!, if you play the 90 minutes all the season you will become an extraordinary player, And we will have a better chance too do something in the world cup. Venga Vela as lo correcto para tu futuro y el de la seleccion.
As much as I would like for him to stay at Arsenal, I feel he should at the very least go out on loan so that he can get some regular first team play. Yes, he probable will break into the team eventually but as it stands now he’s not getting regular play even when he’s fit and not injured. I compare him to Pato and just look how much he’s been improving because he’s playing regularly for AC Milan. Thus, I think Vela should go out on loan for a year and then come back with more experience and stronger physically.
With Van Persie’s unfortunate injury yesterday against Italy, it’s Vela’s moment of truth. Time to really step it up and become the major player he’s hinted at being all along.
