Philippe Senderos, “I need to seek a solution, a change of clubs in the winter is an option”
With the exception of the Carling Cup, Arsenal defender Philippe Senderos is yet to enjoy a regular start for the Gunners with manager Arsene Wenger clearly saying that he has no intention of rotating Thomas Vermaelen and William Gallas who have been in superb form.
The Swiss International, who was loaned out to A.C. Milan last season, is therefore after a new club and is ready to make a move in the January transfer window.
Senderos told the Sunday Mirror:
I need to seek a solution as I’m not playing for Arsenal. A change of clubs in the winter is an option – I am keeping all doors open. This is a difficult time.

i seriously doubt wenger will let him go in january unless we sign a new cb, which i think we won’t. i’m afraid whether he leaves is not up to him and he will have to stick with arsenal until the club can afford to sell him in the summer
Senderos, we have so many games to play. Be patient like Silvester. You will come in where wenger thinks you fit. We need all cups with your efforts.Hold on please.
Renzo,
Firstly I wouldn’t trust any quote from the Sunday Mirror, but having said that I truly believe that Senderos, who was once touted as a future captain, lost it mentally primarily against Drogba twice and in CL quarter Final at Anfield, where he reportedlt cried after the game.
I watched him play a few games in Italy and he was less than impressive.
What is more important is if we lose either Gallas or Varmaelen the cover is either substandard or too young.
Senderos tries his best, there is no question of that, but he has his “Senderos Moment” in nearly every game, and therefore gets much maligned by the crowd.
He hasn’t played much football in the last season or two and I think Mr.Wenger will feel quite relaxed if Philippe stays or not.
I would rather hear him say he wants to justify his selection, but then again how many games will he get to have that opportunity.
IMO to further his career he should move down to a club where the expectation levels are not so great.
He may be better off going to a different club. He is a good defender but not good enough. I would rather sell him and bring in a more talented defender for a replacment for Gallas. That way him and the Swiss one I can’t spell can be slowly eased into the team and form a partnership with Vermaelen. I realy like Senderos but I don’t think he is right for Arsenal and may be happier with another team.
