Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger was very disappointed after his side’s narrow defeat against Sunderland on Saturday. With the Gunners facing Chelsea next week, the Frenchman labeled the defeat as a “massive setback”.
Speaking after the Sunderland game, Wenger said:
It is a massive setback because you need consistency to win a title. Today we were not capable of doing that and it raises question marks.
We lost a game and we can only fault ourselves because we didn’t score.
Some players were not at their best and we gave a goal away on the only situation where Sunderland could score one today, a set-piece, that sums it up well.
We did not create enough chances either and there was a lack of penetration.
