Arsene Wenger, “I’m inclined to say I won’t move for Chamakh”

Submitted by Jeffrey on November 24, 2009 – 4:00 15 Comments

Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger denied he will sign a new striker this January to have more depth up front after injuries suffered by Robin van Persie and Nicklas Bendtner.

The Frenchman, declared he’s ready to give Mexican striker Carlos Vela a chance to shine with Vela being the reason why he didn’t replace Emmanuel Adebayor.

Wenger said:

I’m inclined to say I won’t move for Chamakh because we have enough quality and I want to give a chance to Carlos Vela. It’s a good observation period to see how well we do without Van Persie

Arsenal squad is in good shape right now, but what happened on saturday against sunderland is a suprise. Chamakh is not far from Eduardo when his on form. Let us see what is going to happen in champions to day.

    • WILSON says:

I believe we have to wake up to a different mindset and get focussed for the best.Arsenal is a big team and thats what we’re baptised for…………………for sunderland its better we forget about it because it opened a new challenge for us that we should not experience victory but discover it first; see it using the positive spirit, teamwork(as true Gunners) and indeed talent since this is what makes us big and special.I see by faith that indeed this is trully ours this time if and only if we believe and trust in ourselves…………Hey remember that too much ambition breaks a MAN but too little takes him nowhere………..i mean just SWOT yourselves up and indeed you shall pursue BIG!

  • Jack Staniforth says:

Vela and Eduardo up front sounds good to me but where`s the enforcer? We`ll know a lot more how Wengers mind is working after Tuesday nights game. I`ll be up at 6.30am to watch it, seems like a hundred years since I saw the lads in action (bloody internationals).

  • MUINDE A K says:

Lets give this team a chance and see what A.W. and his boys have to offer especially today when we play in the ECL coz its too early to judge the direction they are to take.

  • WILSON ARINGO says:

I addition lets learn from the last time that we won trophies especially the premiership………..we had depth and the team was more mature;his we have to do this time by just working on the aspect of mentorship, inspiration and superstarship by introducing such players who can just drive the great talent to championships.please focus rightfully and it shall be well with us.

  • Ibrahim Sesay says:

Let us don’t forget that the road to success is not smooth. There are always obstacles that inhibit the smooth flow. I believe one of the greatest obstacle for us is injuries on our enviable players. I think the young guys should be given the opportunity to exhibit their talent. I’m pretty sure they’ll deliver what is expected of them. Guys do your best to make us happy!!

I hate wenger. He bases on stupid philosophies, ths time the world does look them. Aristote, grotious, plato ,comte are ancient philosophers at that time.smtimes i imagine wenger could be there,hs idiologies would work out. Lets say he contends the trophies.but he blvs on vela. Lol then who wl be a super sub if would happn like that of of RPV.wenger ths time is nt a time to try and train any boy.bt find trick to win trophies.

  • Ian Mautanga says:

Professor isn’t really serious about what u said,u’ll have to think again properly
carlos vela cannot fit that position coz centre forward requires unfragile player I tell u.I mean
he’ll player only two games and then six weeks with doc.
just spend the money, don’t u know that money is for protection(if u spend wisely) don’t
behave as if u have abig debt lyk rafa we’ll eventually have no silver come next year.

  • MESSI says:

3-0 or to the gunners eduardo, eduardo arshavin SIMPLE AS

  • Geo says:

Ha i never knew Vela was so disliked
Well i am rooting for him, and I hope he scores with his signature chip shot.

  • Yemsey says:

Maybe d new formation is affectin edu.but asha and walcot may giv us good attacking role

  • phillip says:

there we go again.Year in year out its still the same discussion.Mr wenger has shares and is making money for this club. This means he can have his job for 20 years except someone buys arsenal. This man has no regards for the poor fans that pay to watch their darling team.this is unacceptable and must not go on.He needs to be called to order.Even Arshavin has said we need to but to have balance which we so greatly lack.Sometimes i feel mr wenger is afraid of challanges.could that be why he turned down real mardrid??
Mr wnger must take a cue from chelsa, man u and liverpool though its not so rosy for them now but they sure have dept and class!
How can you even think you can win the premiereship with those kids. For me fabrigas, arshavin, van persi, song gallas, vermalin(we need more like him)nasri, eldorado are the only players arsenal have now. They rest are inexperienced.its not about being stylish like Diaby or directionless like Walcot or incohesive like sagna or completely ordinary like bedtner!
Please mr wenger,if you read this, face fresh challages and bring in players and show the world if you are a world class coach like jose mourinho and alex ferguson.A proven expensive goal poacher, standard tested defensive midfielder, right back in the mould of glen jonson , a right back and a winger in the mould of Joe cole.
Believe me mr wenger, you will claim the treble with these crop of players mentioned here.Should you insist on giving carlos vela the chance to shine, then rest assured that you may not even play the champions league next season or are you still deluding your self that you can win it this year?have you thought about chelsea, man u,madrid, lyon,ac milan, barca and the almighty INTER??????????????????????????????????????????
They will eat you alive the way man utd did last season. We thought you would have learnt but this is an exception-where a PROFFESSOR FAILS TO LEARN
This is not a personal attack but must be viewd as pain suffererd by a passionate arseanl fan.
If im not mistaken,im sure those arsenal fans who happily hang the banner inscribed “in arsene we trust” would be clamouring for wenger to be sacked by the end of the season if arseanal fail to win even the carling cup.
Will he still keep talking of developing players next season? Will you believe him and give him a chance ?Do you know you would have won nothing for 5 years while the orchestrator gets pay raise???? He is not a proffessor/coach but a POLITICIAN.

  • [...] for a new striker in January although in an interview published last week, he clearly said he will not move for the French-born Moroccan player who however believes a move in January would be beneficial for both the club and his [...]
