Arsene Wenger’s first injury update ahead of Stoke: Theo out injured plus news on Clichy and Gibbs

Submitted by Jeffrey on December 4, 2009 – 3:00 6 Comments

Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger provided his usual injury update ahead of this Saturday’s game at the Emirates and some bad news were given as Theo Walcott is out injured and will miss the game, even though Bacary Sagna recovered and will feature.

The Frenchman, who also provided news on Gael Clichy and Kieran Gibbs, said:

We had Sagna out injured [before] but, normally, he will be available. However, Theo Walcott will not be available. He has a hamstring injury.

As for the other players we had injured, the long-term ones I do not even speak about. But the players who looked to be shorter – like Clichy, Diaby and Bendtner – will not be available. And, of course, Song is suspended for the weekend.

Kieran is doing very well. I had him on the phone and it looked to be completely fine. I have not talked to Robin yet but there again the news I got from the surgery was it went very, very well. There was a lot of disturbance on our side recently [about his injury] but the surgery went well.

So what happened to the placenta magic and back on deck in a couple of weeks.?

Money is thrown around like confetti on these prema donnas it`s just a fantasy world ,next it will be a witch doctor in Africa pointing the bones or an eskimo rubbing seal oil on the soles of your feet or is a pigmy in the Amazon with a magic herb. Whatever there`s housands of dollars in air fares not to mention “the treatment”. Use Decorub and stay off of your feet for a week then swim. Cost, five quid for the Dencorub and ( I take it Emirates has a pool) the swim is free.

The “placenta magic” only works for muscle injuryies…hence why is worked for Lampard. RVP’s injury was related to the tendons and required surgery., which is why the “placenta magic” didnt work.

Second, yes, money is thrown around on the prema donnas but thats because over time we have allowed them to do so. We are the one’s who agree to pay inflated ticket prices, team kit prices, and buy the shoes used by the players. So, because of us, they are prema donnas. We idol them as heros and pay the prices that companies know they will get from us. This is the contribution we as fans have given to the sport so that it evolved into frail players with no loyalty or backbone.

And whilst on the subject of prima donnas how about a realistic wage structure based on appearance and performance.?

1st. Grade squad……Basic wage + 1st grade selection bonus + win bonus or draw bonus.

INJURY: Injury payment….Basic wage + 1st grade selection bonus for four weeks only, thereafter basic wage only.

Ofcourse it won`t happen the players and their agents run the game on their terms not club management.

Unfortunately I am not at all surprised that Walcott is out injured again, it is always something with him. It will hurt that Song is not available due to suspension. My guess is Rosicky will start with Denilson in def mid (assuming he is fit to go after the Weds game) with Fabregas in front as usual. Nasri, Arshavin and either Eduardo or Vela will be the top three, though I hope Arshavin goes up top and either Vela or Eduardo go out wide more. I just hope we can squeak three points out of this one. Thank goodness we have this one at home.

  • gunner says:

why arshavin shouldnt be striker today he can drib shoot thts we totally miss n giv welshire a chance to shinein wings or eboue.with cesc nasri there wil b good connection.hope we start our new journey again with warnng to next.the gunners

  • Franklin peters says:

Well whatever it takes for us to grab the maximum points needed in today’s game, count me in.
