Swiss International Philippe Senderos is close to leave Arsenal after failing to make it into the first eleven of Arsene Wenger’s side. With his only appearance coming in the Carling Cup, the 24-year old needs a new team so as to secure a regular place with his National side in the World Cup Finals.
Senderos told Marca:
I have held a meeting with Arsene Wenger and I hope the door has been opened for me to leave Arsenal in January.
I need to play regularly if I am to make the 2010 World Cup with Switzerland. At the moment I do not have this opportunity and I must now consider my options.
Spain has one of the best leagues in the world and is very attractive to any footballer. I have played matches against Spanish clubs before and their level is very high.
