Arsenal midfielder Andrey Arshavin provided an after-match interview on his official website after the Liverpool game, in which he spoke about an injury which apparently has been bothering him for quite some time.
The Russian said:
When I struck the ball at that moment, the pain worsened. This injury has been bothering me for a while. The instep of my foot has been causing me pain for a long time, but I want and I will play in the next game. If you came on the pitch – endure and play.
On Liverpool dropping out of the top four, he added:
I would not say that. This is a strong team. Torres is back in full training. I think that if they win two or three games over the leaders, they’ll become favorites again. Probably, it will be extremely difficult for them to take first place, but I think that they will certainly fight for a place in the top three. They are going to play many games at their home stadium, where the fans will only drive them forward. Therefore, it is good that today we are coming back to London from this stadium with three points.
