Arsenal ended the year in style. With a 1-4 win over Portsmouth, the Gunners moved closer to the top knowing that they of course have a game in hand, away at Bolton.
In the meantime, manager Arsene Wenger is already thinking of 2010 and the January transfer market which can be so vital for his team. Speaking to Sky Sports about possible new signings in January, the Frenchman declared he is ready to sign someone but it all depends on how the injured players recover.
He said:
We are not against it and at the moment we look, but we are not on any case.
It depends on how the injuries come back. We have to assess a little bit how (Nicklas) Bendtner is, how long (Cesc) Fabregas and Denilson will be out and assess that.
Everybody tells us to buy strikers, but we score goals, so we have a good balance and we have many offensive players on the pitch, and I believe our team play allows us to score.
