Andrey Arshavin: We lack class, third place in the table is already a success
With the Chelsea game only days away, Andrey Arshavin chose a wrong moment to show his disappointment on the current set of Arsenal players. According to the Russian, considering the players with which the Gunners are playing, third place in the table is already a “great success”.
The 28-year old also added how new players had to be signed to make up for the absence of strikers Robin van Persie and Eduardo.
He said:
Third place is where we stand today, and that is already a great success for Arsenal when you take into account the class of our eleven players. Of course, we try to win every match, but class is class.
If Arsenal want to become champions, how can they select Arshavin as centre forward? I am 173cm (5ft 7in) and it suits me, but next to the big centre halves of United it is very difficult to fight for the ball, especially in the air.
Van Persie is injured and unlikely to play again this season. Eduardo is injured too, but he may be ready to face Chelsea. We are in a difficult situation when it comes to recruiting players.

Arshavin is very right, apart from a tall and efficient strikes, we play without wingers…..Nasri, Arshavin, Fab, Rosicky, Denilson and Ramsey are one type of middle field players, and should only be fighting for two numbers in a game. We were once the king of counter attacks but nomadays we’re beaten at that because of lack of wingers and fast and efficient forwards in the team. Even if Wenger want youths…..lets have then in all the numbers, not coverting them to their unnatural numbers.

I always said Arshavin is a detractor and not the kind of player for Arsene Wenger in his policy of building a team from scratch. He is a very talented player who has made me stand up and dance during several matches (YNWA vs Gunners) but his “MOUTH”.
He always gives the impression that he is a mercenary who is here for a personal mission. Wenger has a young squad, and the older players should encourage the younger ones rather than keep blasting the team and tactics in the press. Like it or not, this guy is not positive influence on our young squad.

1) Goalkeeper – Alumnia is a disaster waiting to happen. why not bring in mannone?
2) Full-backs can’t cross – Our full-backs don’t acknowledge the fact that the team can’t win headers with the exception of our 2 CBs. Why can’t they cross-in the ball like what the scums are doing. Waist level balls hitted fast and furious.
2) Denilson – He’s like a Fiat Punto. Looks good in the specificiations, but when you have driven it, its feels small and slow.
Why don’t you all quit the club with your beloved arshavin. No matter what you say this is just past half time and we are still in with a chance to make a charge for the title. Arshavin is not afraid to call a spade a spade. He is absolutely right as players like Denilson, Almunia, etc lack class. Those of you who say that Arshavin hasn’t provided any class, OPEN YOUR EYES. Arshavin says what most of us already know. He is no doubt a classy player, but his way of thinking shows itself even in his play: he just plays for himslelf thinking his team mates are not good enough to pass them a ball. This is not right of course, but most player ARE indeed mediocre!
What I’m sorry to see that Wenger failed to establish a spirit of ONE team, players who fight for each other. I think not the absence of a class in the team, but the absence of this spirit (despite Wenger’s saying WE ARE READY TO FIGHT bla bla bla) is the key to win the trophy. We never fought against big teams this season. When it comes to fighting, most fans can agree that it is the same players who fight in Arsenal ( Vermalen, Gallas, Song, sometimes Fabregas), and that’s it.

Arshavin is class we all know. Captain fab is too, yes we know. Verminator acknowledged is was never one but if fights hard to prove his mettle. This also goes for player like rikky, gallas, song, diaby. What then are the rest to the squad members doing. Sagna cant cross the ball past the first defender. (he has only got two crosses right this season and v.PERSIE scored both). Same goes for our unfortunate left back. Denilson acting like a 555 timer. The taste of defeat is so bad.
Lets all admit the truth. Wenger’s philosophy is ok but when need be you have to change. Rules are meant to be broken thats why he resigned sol, gallas is over 30 and wants to broker a new contract. There is nothing wrong in getting one or two established players to aid your teams quest for success.
Lastly remember fab4 played with players like henry, patrick, dennis,cole,…. the list goes on. Who has benedtner,clichy,Sagna,Denilson,nasri,eastmond,jet,sunu,sanchez,merinda,batley, and so many of their likes played with.

Supporters should organise a protest day to show the manager their dicontent. If that does not move him, they should arrange to boycott a match. How can a manager be selling players without replacements or have no back plans for serious departments like strikers? No matter how well they paly, scoring is what matters. At a certain stage of the competition (even now), there were no strikers available to choose from? How can a team aspiring to win the EPL be in this kind of situation? Any team that can find herself in this kind of situation has no plans to win the EPL.

Yes, I agree it would be tough, and to be honest, I wasnt expecting us to actually win the thing anyway, but I think that if we lost tmw, we would still come back to offer a realistic challenge and finish within 5 points.
I know most people wont like it, but to me thats a big improvement.
We may have a few weaknesses at times (these players are playing particularly poorly at the moment by their own standards), but we are still deserving of our place in the table. Its only in a couple of big games that we’ve looked weak. Even then, last weak I felt it was far more to do with poor tactics than weak players as to why Utd beat us so comfortably, although the players you mention didnt do themselves justice either, that’s for sure.
Andrey has always been selfish in the big games. I didnt mind before because he always seemed to score a goal or 2, but it mattered against Utd because while he was wasting our chances, they were taking theirs.
Honestly, I hope at the end of the season we do get that striker, maybe remy could be the one, and arshavin moves on. Hes been very important to us this season on the pitch (for the most part doing a pretty selfless job actually), but the crap he continues to come out with off it cannot be good for the team.

Before the season started, we all assuming arsenal will drop out of top 4.
I dun feel like arsenal can win the p league tittle with current team, so… top3 is not really that bad.
But from the flying color at the start of season, before losing 3-1 to m city , it really light up the hope of winning the tittle.
Of course it will give us more chips of hope to win the title if wenger bought some players that turn out to be bargain and get immediately impact.
