Chelsea vs Arsenal: Team line-ups, half-time thoughts and match chat

Written by Chris on February 7, 2010 – 16:10

The Game

There’s been a lot of talking this week about what happened against Manchester United and what will happen today. But enough talking now, it’s time, for the action.

If you want, please do join the discussion in our chat room which will also be active after the full time whistle.

The Line-Ups

Chelsea

Cech, Ivanovic, Terry, Carvalho, Cole, Ballack, Mikel Obi, Lampard, Anelka, Malouda, Drogba

Subs: Hilario, Ferreira, Alex, Zhirkov, Deco, Joe Cole, Kalou

Arsenal

Almunia, Sagna, Gallas, Vermaelen, Clichy, Fabregas, Song, Diaby Walcott, Arshavin, Nasri

Subs: Fabianski, Campbell, Ramsey, Denilson, Eboue, Rosicky, Bendtner

Half-Time Thoughts and Analysis

Small things can make a big difference and watching Gael Clichy walking from one side of the post to the other which not even someone who just started playing football would do, may seem like a small thing but it can lead to disaster.

Seriously, I cannot understand what he was trying to do there and that, just like last week’s own goal by Almunia, killed us off immediately. We saw plenty of the ball, did better than last week and were unlucky not to level things up, but when you don’t fix problems the first time you see them, they come back to haunt you.

Tomas Rosicky for Theo Walcott and Nicklas Bendtner for Samir Nasri would be my gamble.

At half time, it’s Chelsea two, Arsenal nil.
