Villarreal midfielder Robert Pires believes Barcelona will not have it easy if they really are after Arsenal captain Cesc Fabregas. The Frenchman, who made 189 appearances for the Gunners explained how manager Arsene Wenger will never let one of his most important players leave without fighting.
No longer a surprise, rumours linking Cesc Fabregas with Barcelona have been in the headlines for the last two seasons, with the likes of Carles Puyol and Gerard Pique both saying the 22-year old will one day leave the North London Club for a comeback in Spain.
But, speaking on this controversy, Pires is quoted as saying by Spanish newspaper Sport:
Wenger will not be convinced by money. He always wants his best players.
At Arsenal, he is the captain and Wenger has confidence in him, and that is important because he knows he will play. At Barca it is more difficult. You must choose and it is complicated.
