It’s no surprise almost all headlines were talking of Emmanuel Eboue this morning, the man of the match of Saturday’s game against Sunderland. Only last season, he was booed off the pitch by his own supporters and needed all the support of his team mates to recover from such a low point in his career.
But now, he is back and showing all his talent, all his determination and all his fighting spirit. Speaking on the Ivory Coast International, manager Arsene Wenger declared that he can easily be taken as an example of how the opinion of many can chance if good performances are produced.
Wenger said:
Eboue is a good example that you can always change the opinion of people if you keep focused, have talent and produce on the pitch. The people who booed him one year ago today love him. That is down to his attitude and it is the credit he deserves.
If you ask him, he prefers to play at right back. But I like him as well in midfield because when you look at the number of games we have won with him at right midfield, you will see that his numbers are good. He is a good football player and where you see him stand in the opposition box against two players, you know he will pass. Why should be not be capable of playing right midfielder?
