With their 2-0 win over Sunderland on Saturday, Arsenal kept their title hopes alive by staying six points from the top of the table and moving closer to Manchester United, who lost away at Everton. Speaking on all this, Russian midfielder Andrey Arshavin declared Chelsea are the favourites to lift the Premiership title as the two defeats the Gunners suffered against them and the Red Devils are not easy to recover from.
The Russian International explained to Russian newspaper Sport Express how what Arsenal have to do is to make sure to win all their remaining games, and of course hope for the other two to drop points.
The 28-year old said:
United outplayed us in midfield and Chelsea were a more mature and powerful team. [The title race?] If choosing between them, I think Chelsea.
If we were not defeated by United and Chelsea we would be on even terms with them now. But as it is we just need to stay in the race by winning each next match. And we will fight as long as we have the slightest of chances.
