Wales coach John Toshack: I spoke to Aaron Ramsey, he is in decent spirits
Wales boss John Toshack provided the first good news of the last few days on the injury of 19-year old Aaron Ramsey, revealing how the player is in “decent spirits” despite suffering what is a season-ending injury. Toshack added how the recovery process will be a long one but the player is ready to take on this battle.
Ramsey sustained fractures to the tibia and fibula in his right leg on Saturday in Arsenal’s 1-3 win over Stoke City, a victory which saw the Gunners edge closer to the top of the table after Chelsea went down at Stamford Bridge against Manchester City.
Toshack said:
It is a horrific injury, it makes you want to vomit. It was a sad, unfortunate incident. I spoke to him this morning and he seems in decent spirits but it is a blow for the player, the club and us.
All we can do now is hope for a speedy, successful recovery, but obviously it is going to be a long one. The information we have got is that he is as comfortable as can be expected and he seemed in surprisingly decent spirits when I spoke to him.

That’s great to hear. I’m sure he’ll make it though this with everyone’s support (:
It is, it is.
Very nice to hear indeed.
He is a wonderful young lad. Its good to hear that he is still taking it positively.
Hope that he can recover soon and be on the pitch again for Arsenal..
Go Ramsey!! =)
Ramsey has the potential to become one of the most finest in Europe lets hope he recovers quickly
Eduardo scored the first goal of the New Year in 2008, against West Ham, with the scoreline ending 1-0. Ramsey scored the first goal of this year, 2010, coincidentally against West Ham, with the result ending 2-1. Eduardo went on to suffer that horrific injury and now, it’s Ramsey.
We’re blaming West Ham now?
I’m not necessarily blaming West Ham, I’m just pointing out an interesting fact that happens to be a coincidence.
wow to top that as well, eduardo got injured in february 2 days before the carling cup final, ramsey got injured in february a day before the carling cup final.
Plus people say this shawcross guy didnt mean it or whatever ok i can understand he didnt mean to break his leg yes, but he went in with a diabolical reckless tackle, and he injured adebayor last season for weeks at stoke, plus theo got injured by delap with a reckless tackle and so did sagna too.
3 injuries to adebayor, walcott, sagna and plus we ended up with 9 men on the pitch as well with van persie getting a red card, so im not suprised someone got injured just surprised how bad, disgusted but so happy his recvered 100%
