Arsene Wenger: We will fight until the end and win the Premiership for Aaron Ramsey

Submitted by Jeffrey on March 2, 2010 – 4:00 14 Comments

Arsenal players, manager and fans seem to have joined forces in wanting to win the Premiership title for Aaron Ramsey, who suffered a horrible injury last Saturday, at the Britannia Stadium, against Stoke City. The 19-year old is sure to miss the remaining of the season and it is no surprise that Arsene Wenger echoed the wish of all Arsenal supporters in asking his players to keep on fighting until the end and lift the Premiership title for the youngster.

Speaking to the club’s official website, Wenger added how amazing last weekend’s win was, especially when you consider the average age of his young Arsenal team.

He said:

It will be tight until the end. But this group is so strong mentally and have a unity so this will give us one more reason to fight until the end and do it for him.

We had some other problems two years ago. But on Saturday we had a midfield of Nasri, Fabregas, Ramsey, Song and Eboue. They have an average of 20 or 21-years-old. Up front, Bendtner is 21-years-old.

At their age, to handle the game like they did is absolutely remarkable.

Fighing to end Wenger will work if you select very well players who can codinate well on the pitch. At times there are days when i get happy with your selection when goals come from any player you don`t expect to score since we have a weak defense and stricking line-up.

This team has a unity that is unrivaled anywhere in the league right now. Now they are playing for each other, they are playing for Aaron…that is awfully strong motivation. Cesc has grown into an amazing captain, and with the leadership help of sol campbell (another amazing signing) and our other experienced players (eboue, vermaelen (future captain), and clichy. They all banded together.
this is what i want to see this weekend…

    almunia
    sagna gallas campbell clichy
    vermaelen
    eboue cesc
    rosicky arshavin
    bendtner

i’s like to see thomas in songs role breaking up attacks before they get to the back 4. If sol gets too tired, then bring on denilson and drop thomas back.

All in all I have never been more proud to be a fan of Arsenal FC. Victoria Concordia Crescit!

you are right man i would like to see how verminator plays in midfield. i like campbell coz he ha sgot height he doesnt get deep in to attack unlike vem nad gallas which leaves us with a figure to dely or evade counter attacks

The question being asked is “how long will Ramsey be out for”?

Doctors have a fair idea because they`ve experienced it all before but there are many variants and much depends on what is meant by `full recovery.

Myself I experienced a triple fracture of the femur and had a nail inserted the length of the bone. No load on the leg meant six weeks in bed then a further six weeks in a wheelchair so I was three months before I could put my foot to ground. Walking unaided with out crutches was a further three months. So, we`re up to six months, and I`m not an athlete. Add three months for athletic training and track work that`s nine months before squad work.

So, we`re looking at November before he kicks a ball. Then of course there is match fitness and being introduced from the bench bit at a time. My guess would be around Christmas before he is available to take his place in the starting eleven.

There is however one big difference between Aaron and myself, I`m fifty five years his senior.

    Good luck lad……

my guess although im not a doctor i would say december before his playing on the pitch fully. remember his gonna have alot of niggles here and there due to the fact he wont play for a long long time so that will push back further aswell. However I just cant wait to see him back running with the ball with so much passion, power and commitment, he will be an incredible player in the future, you guys will see

  • Kanyi Mbote says:

The team has what it takes to win the league. All we require now is consistence . Almunia should not allow balls to land on opponents within the box. Defence during coners leave the rear side open. then we need to employ what i call the one-and -a-half man strategy and the team of 11 becomes a team of 15 or more…….Go Gunnners go!!!!

Hope that we will win the premiership…
The team shows great character in the game against Stoke.
Its a good sign… But they will need to work hard to keep the spirit to win the title…

    Go Gunners!!!! =)

  • raffi says:

Answer to Aussie Jack… Out 8 months and 3 ops.
Op 1 to insert Rod and screws top and bottom
Op 2 to remove bottom screws (4 months)
Op 3 to remove top screws (7 months)
Running 8/9 months. Fit month 10
I know, cause I had Identical break, repair MINUS his fitness and oxygen tanks etc…

As for Winning the League for Ramsey… FORGET IT ! Let’s be realistic.
We have no depth, (Never had it). We should be happy with SECOND at best , probably 3rd. Good run-in or not, don’t expect much… if it happens, it’s a bonus, right ???
    cheers

Incredible stories from Raffi and Aussie Jack.
Great comebacks both of you. I have questions? Are your injured body parts AS good as before or ALMOST as good? Raffi are you an athlete? I am fairly athletic and I have had significant injuries prior that required surgery but they were nothing like what the pair of you are describing! I am very curious about your rehab and performance since because who knows if I would ever have to deal with those sort of injuries? I am sure neither of you thought that either!! Well done to both of you on getting back!!!!

  • Gunner says:

    Raffi
I was in full agreement with you concerning Arsenal and the championship up until Saturday and while I am still skeptical I have to believe that the performance at Stoke might just prove to be decisive. We knew that 3 pts there meant that Arsenal would have to really stand up and be counted. So far this year they had failed when it hinged on that quality. However this time round they really did stand up to the challenge, so who knows but that win means they have the momentum and that is massive at this point! Nobody could argue different!
Quite honestly if they do not lift it this year they have only themselves to blame because the big 2 have to meet face to face and by and large Arsenal have an easier finish on paper than both.
Nobody could craft a better opportunity if they tried. At this point it is down to application! In short it is down to Arsenal. I will stop short of making them favorites but they really should be!!!

  • summer breez says:

With a nasty injury and a good win so who is available for burnly (Galas- Archivan-Diaby –Vila) they are yet to come back but also with Song unavailable it represents a lot of questions???
    —————alumonia—————-
    Sanga——camble—–varmilin——-clychy
    ———estmond———fabergas
    ——–Nasri—–diaby ——archivan
    —————Benthner
    Rocisky—wallcot—edwardo—galas—vela –ebue –danilson
But still seems short in defensive midfield and left back
Hope our next outing will be injury free and hope that the referee play the game under international law but also wish to see football players play football rather than rugby and play with good manners but also our team to stand their ground and fight on as they did on last Saturday

  • messi says:

    this is my team for saturday;

    ____________________almunia________________________

    ___eboue______gallas________vermaelen_____clichy______

    ___________________denilson_________________________
    ___________cesc________________diaby________________

    ____nasri___________________________arshavin__________
    ____________________bendtner_________________________

    Subs:__fabianski__campbell__traore__sagna__rosicky__walcott__eduardo__

And I’m gonna go for a home win with us winning this one 4 or 3 – 0. Especially that our confidence, desire and ambitions should be incredible after that difficult game last weekend. So the team will be high of confidence.

Goals from Nasri, Cesc and Bendtner again.
