Arsene Wenger’s last injury update ahead of Hull: Cesc Fabregas, Bacary Sagna and William Gallas

It is again an emergency situation for Arsene Wenger as he will sit down to select the squad to face Hull City, this afternoon, at the KC Stadium. Captain Cesc Fabregas is doubtful for the game and if selected, he will probably only be on the bench. Also, central defender William Gallas is definitely with Sol Campbell struggling to recover from Tuesday’s game against Porto in the Champions League.
The Frenchman also provided an update on Bacary Sagna. The right back is recovering from an ankle injury and a late fitness test will be made to decide whether to use him or not. If unavailable, Ivory Coast International Emmanuel Eboue will surely take over.
Wenger explained:
It is a little bit more than 50 against now. That means he will be very short for Saturday. We will assess him today. He is starting to run now but we think it would a gamble to play him on Saturday. Apart from him, we have an uncertainty with [Bacary] Sagna on his ankle. We also have a problem with Sol Campbell and how he will recover. He finished the Porto game with cramp. They are doubts, not big doubts, but we have to refresh the squad a little so we will see.
I don’t know [about William Gallas]. Wednesday was a day of rest and recovery for the players so we have to deeply examine everything to see where we go.
