Hull City vs Arsenal: Team line-ups, half-time thoughts and match chat

Written by Chris on March 13, 2010 – 17:50

The Game

As it’s been for the last month or so, this is a must win game for the Gunners. Without Cesc Fabregas, Arsenal simply need to get all three points to put the pressure back on Chelsea and Manchester United. Dropped points could mean the end of our Premiership dream.

Half-Time Thoughts and Analysis

When saying that to win the Premiership we need to win all our games and hope for other teams to drop points, maybe sometimes we forgot a third element who could play a big part in all this: the referee. In these first 45 minutes of football, a long list of wrong decisions against Arsenal see the Gunners go at half time with the score reading 1-1.

It was a very good start from Arsene Wenger’s men who took an early lead thanks to a great goal by Andrey Arshavin. Unfortunately, the lead and the momentum were cancelled out by a horrible decision by the linesman not to raise his flag, allowing Hull to move on and get a penalty which they converted.

Now down to 10-men, the Tigers will surely park the bus in the second half. So, it would maybe be wise to move Emmanuel Eboue in place of Bacary Sagna if the Frenchman does not recover from the knee injury from which Boateng saw red and put Theo Walcott on to add pace to the forward line.

At half time, it’s Hull City one, Arsenal one.
