Theo Walcott: After missing so much, I hope I’ll be like a new signing

A player returning from injury is like a new signing. This is something Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger believes in and according to midfielder Theo Walcott, it’s now his turn to be like a new signing for the Gunners. The 21-year old has missed a big part of the season, admitting it was “very frustrating” and his objective is now to enjoy more regular starts.
Speaking to the club’s official website, the Englishman added how he is also ready to play a part by coming off the bench, if required, as he is looking to bring something new and different in Arsene Wenger’s squad, just like against Hull City, game in which he impressed when coming in late on in the second half.
Walcott said:
It’s been very frustrating with injury after injury this season. To start that game (against Burnley) and play very well then not to play Porto was disappointing because I just want to play. I feel as fit as ever.
It’s nice to come on and make a difference but I want to be starting most games. If I can show my support by coming off the bench I’ll do a job. I’ve missed a long period of games and hopefully I’ll be like a new signing and can bring something different to the team that we haven’t got and push on for this title. It will be a very good one for the neutral.
