Mikael Silvestre, “We have to work harder”

After yesterday’s 0-0 draw against Manchester City, Arsenal are officially out of the title race and closer to seal third place in the Premiership.
Speaking to Arsenal TV Online last week after the Wigan game, defender Mikael Silvestre highlighted the fact that Premiership teams are getting harder and harder to beat, as they “fight for their lives”.
Silvestre, 32, has been under heavy criticism this season for failing to impress whenever he featured as a regular. The former Manchester United left back was bitterly disappointed for the way Arsenal played against Wigan, saying how playing like that will not help their cause.
Arsenal will travel to Blackburn on May the 3rd before closing their campaign at home at the Emirates, against Roy Hodgson’s Fulham.
Silvestre said:
We need to get back to winning ways, back to happy days, but it won’t come like that [the way we played at Wigan].
We have to work harder because all the teams in the championship are fighting for their lives. The title race is open but not for us anymore, but we have to secure a Champions League spot and the third or second spot in the League.
