Arsenal striker Robin van Persie confirmed he is fully recovered from injury by scoring twice for his National side against Mexico in a friendly match, in Germany.
Bert van Marwijk’s side made a bright start seeing plenty of the ball in the first minutes of the game and were rewarded for their efforts when the 26-year old took full advantage of some sloppy defending to volley Holland ahead in the 17th minute.
Playing with the number nine jersey, the Arsenal front man was not shy to use his right foot to give his side the lead and added a second with a beautiful 41st minute first-time take, this time with his left foot. He was later on substituted in the 64th minute.
The Netherlands were drawn in Group E for this summer’s World Cup Finals, together with Cameroon, Denmark and Japan. This means that van Persie will face Arsenal team mates Nicklas Bendtner and Alexander Song in South Africa.
