Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has again confirmed that the club has no intention of selling captain Cesc Fabregas to Barcelona, regardless of the fee the Spanish giants are ready to offer.
Currently in South Africa working for French channel TF1, Wenger is quoted as saying how the 23-year old midfielder is not for sale, hence confirming the position of the club which revealed an offer – according to reports around the £29m – was turned down in an official statement at the start of the month.
Wenger said:
Cesc is not for sale, no matter what Barcelona offer.
Meanwhile, according to Barcelona players, Fabregas wants to leave the North London Club to return to his homeland although the player made it clear how he is at the moment only focused on doing well with the Spanish National side in South Africa.
The player also explained that he is as excited for playing in South Africa as he was four years ago in Germany although he failed to live up to expectations in the group stage of the tournament.
On his future, the Arsenal captain said:
I am isolated from it all and I am not thinking about anything else apart from the national team.
I have come to play a World Cup, which is the best thing possible for a player, with the same excitement that I had at the World Cup in Germany when I was 19.
I am hungry to do something important and the only thing I will do is always give everything, with a lot of desire and make sure the hunger and competitiveness are never lacking.
