Bert van Marwijk on Robin van Persie reaction: I’m not angry, I don’t blame him
Arsenal striker Robin van Persie was clearly frustrated for not completing yesterday’s World Cup game but coach Bert van Marwijk explained he understands the striker’s reaction.
Just like any striker hungry to find the back of the net, the 26-year old was not happy to be substituted and immediately asked for an explanation after giving way to Klaas-Jan Huntelaar. Despite not scoring, the Dutchman can still be happy with his performance especially after creating the space with a well-timed run for Arjen Robben to put Holland in front.
The Orange went on to win the game by two goals to one and will now face Brazil on Friday in what promises to be a mouthwatering World Cup quarter-final showdown.
On van Persie’s reaction after the substitute, van Marwijk said:
Robin was a bit disappointed that I replaced him. That’s why he reacted like that. I don’t blame him for his reaction though and I’m absolutely not angry.

I think the orange front line are not playing together and other than that,they are too selfish,this is prominent in yesterday game against the slovakian,Arjen was too selfish and also unfit for the game.The dutchmen should not play like that against the Brazilian or else will be trash.
All van Marwijk had to do was to tell RVP he was being substituted to avoid a second yellow card. God, how difficult was that?

Holland’s shape was worrying facing brazil won’t be easy they need to be focused in defence otherwise they will pay heavily in one stage of the match there was only one player in at the back brazil team is good solid at the back and stays back

Make RVP hungrier for the Brazil match.
van Marwijk is a great coach for Holland, and reactions from his players when they are substituted are completely normal, but if he has that wonderful bench (Huntelaar, Elia, Afellay…), all of them deserve to play at WC.
Nevertheless, Robin is Holland main striker, and he will go on at starting XI against Brazil and in semis.
And Arsenal captaincy next season will be with Cesc until he leaves us.
i’ve been a huntelaar fan for a while, but i don’t know much about van persie. however, from what i have seen he seems pretty arrogant and doesn’t have the talent to back up the way he acts. if it were up to me, huntelaar would be the starter and van persie would come in for the last ten minutes of the game…
we can see how selfish arjen robben are…. same like arshavin. that behaviour will make any striker become angry
Go Holland go, we here in Australia really need a morale boost, we are behind you all the way, show them the mettle of old and that we can still be victorious. Get the old fighting spirit going, don’t get complacent but keep it on the up up up up. Good luck boys.
