Gerard Pique on Cesc Fabregas, “In his heart he is wearing a Barcelona shirt next season”

Spain and Barcelona defender Gerard Pique revealed Arsenal captain Cesc Fabregas if entirely focused on the World Cup Finals but deep inside he is dreaming of moving back to Spain.
The centre back is not the first player to reveal that the midfielder wants to leave the Gunners to move to Barcelona, with the likes of Xavi Hernandez and Lionel Messi also saying that the 23-year old told them about his desire to return to Spain, though according to Pique, Fabregas has been wanting a move to Barca for “many” years.
Pique believes the South African tournament was a bad thing for Arsenal, as it meant that Fabregas spent time with his Spanish colleagues hence having an opportunity to make his feelings about his future clear.
With Arsenal making it clear that the player is not for sale and manager Arsene Wenger saying how he will not let him go no matter what Barcelona offer, it seems the closing chapter of this saga will be revealed only after the end of the World Cup, hopefully, with the captain staying at Arsenal.
Pique said:
I have known that Cesc wanted to join Barcelona for many years – but now it is more than about wanting to do it.
Now it is something he feels he must do. The World Cup has not been a good thing for Arsenal.
It has meant that he has been spending every day with myself, Xavi, Andres Iniesta and Victor Valdes – and he has made his feelings very clear to us.
He is keeping his mind focused on Spain but his heart is in Barcelona. I think already in his heart he is wearing a Barcelona shirt next season.
