[Rate The Rumour] Arsenal Transfer Rumours, 27/07 – Mamadou Sakho and Cedric Bakambu

Submitted by James on July 28, 2010 – 4:30 13 Comments
Starting the last week of April and going through the summer, The Gunning Hawk will bring you one article of the most creative and sensational of Arsenal transfer rumours. Of course, please understand that most of them – if not all of them – are “wrong”, to use the same word used by Arsene Wenger. But, it will interesting to discuss what it would be if one or more transfers do indeed go through.

July 27

A strong Senegalese defender and a young French striker are today’s players linked with a possible move to Arsenal.

We start from Italy, as Calcio News 24 reports how Le Parisien wrote that Bayern Munich are interested in Paris Saint Germain’s defender Mamadou Sakho who however – and always according to the article – would prefer a move to Arsenal as he wants a new challenge in the English Premiership.

In other news, Tribal Football believes Chelsea, Manchester United and Arsenal representatives were sent to watch England’s Under 19 game against France to monitor 18-year old Cedric Bakambu of Sochaux-Montbéliard. If true, this would only be for the future since pre-season has clearly showed how we need no new strikers.

And finally, yesterday’s result. More than 1,000 votes with defender Jan Vertonghen getting 482 positive votes and goalkeeper Federico Marchetti getting 323. Not the highest of votes for the two of course.
